Case studies centered around parlementary speeches from Geert Wilders (PVV), Ella Vogelaar (PvdA) and Alexander Pechtold are used to illustrate said method.

The general aim of this dissertation is to demonstrate that the linguistic-stylistic approach is an effective means for the analysis of Dutch texts. Linguistic stylistics is a type of text analysis which allows for the establishment of causalities between the choices in formulation in a text and the global impressions of a text in its entirety. This type of research on style is hardly used in Dutch research on language use.
