Vasiliki Kosta appointed fellow at the Leuven Institute of Advanced Studies

Vasiliki Kosta held a fellowship at the Leuven Institute of Advanced Studies in autumn 2025, by invitation of the rector of the University of Leuven, on the occasion of the 600 years anniversary of KU Leuven.

During her fellowship, Kosta was invited to reflect on ‘The future of the University’ alongside, Ashish Arora (Senior Associate Dean for Stragey and Rex D. Adams Professor of Business Administration at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University), Eric Heinze (Professor of Law and Humanities, Queen Mary University), Manon Kluijtmans (Dean of University College Utrecht and Professor at the Utrecht University Medical Center), Silvia Lenaerts (rector magnificus of Eindhoven University of Technology) and Sari Landblom (Rector of the University of Helsinki).

Kosta held, within the expert seminar ‘Academic Freedom. New challenges’, a talk on the ‘The commercialisation challenge to academic freedom and the relevance of EU law’. She also held a public lecture on the same topic and acted as a discussant to the public lectures given by Sari Lindblom, Ashish Arora, and Eric Heinze on the theme ‘Which future for universities? Academic freedom, innovation and education’.
