Max Rood Moot Court Competition great success

Although the team from Leiden did not win, the Max Rood Moot Court Competition was a great success once again. Six teams of students (Leiden, Groningen, Maastricht, Utrecht, VU and UvA) participated and passionately argued a case involving summary dismissal.

The teams’ assignment in the semi-final, was to argue the opposite side to the position they had defended in the preliminary round. In the final, where Groningen faced UvA, the case was about a fictitious strike at Schiphol Airport during the NATO summit. After much discussion, the jury of six employment law judges and lawyers decided to award the Max Rood cup to the team from UvA.

The Moot Court competition is organised every year by the labour law study association Sine Labore Nihil together with the Department of Labour Law and Social Security. Compliments are due to all teams and their coaches. The Department of Labour Law also thanks SLN and the members of the jury for their contribution to this wonderful day.
