Guest lecture Coordinator on the Rights of the Child of the European Commission

On Tuesday 4 March, Marie-Cécile Rouillon, Coordinator on the Rights of the Child at the European Commission came to give a guest lecture to students of the Advanced LLM in Children’s Rights as well as the Jeugdrecht master’s programme.

Rouillon had an interactive and fruitful discussion with the students on the role of the European Commission in upholding the highest standard of protection for children within the European borders and beyond. As part of the curriculum for both programmes, the exchange focused on migration and children’s rights as well as broader topics of child protection. It was an excellent opportunity for students to engage with a professional in the field of children’s rights and ask questions about the current developments and challenges on the issues discussed every day in the classroom.
