Gilles van Wezel reappointed for four years
Gilles van Wezel has been reappointed as Scientific Director at the Leiden Institute of Biology (IBL). Van Wezel has been director of this institute since September 2018 and will remain so until 1 September 2026.
Van Wezel is happy that he can continue to govern for another four years. 'As an institute, we have made enormous strides in recent years. We have grown strongly, both in research and in student numbers, which brings along interesting challenges. We also want to further shape our administrative, personnel and social ambitions.’
The appointment of Annemarie Meijer has also been extended. She will continue to strengthen the IBL management team as Vice-director. Her appointment will run concurrently with that of Van Wezel.
