Sierd Schaafsma appointed justice in the Supreme Court of the Netherlands
The Dutch Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of a Vice President and of three justices, including Professor Sierd Schaafsma, in the Supreme Court of the Netherlands.
The appointment was carried out on the nomination of Minister for Legal Protection Sander Dekker. The appointment in the civil chamber will commence on 1 May 2021.
Schaafsma is Professor of Private International Law at Leiden University. He is also a senior justice at the Court of Appeal in The Hague.
