Vlad Niculescu-Dincă appointed Knight of the Romanian Order "Merit for Education"

Dr. Vlad Niculescu-Dincă (Institute of Security and Global Affairs) has been appointed a Knight of the Order “Merit for Education” through a decree of Romanian President Klaus-Werner Johannis.

The ceremony took place at the Romanian Embassy in The Hague and was hosted by Ambassador Brandusa Predescu, as the official representative of the President. This distinction is a recognition of his efforts to found and coordinate the Romanian School in Eindhoven, starting in 2012, as well as for his achievements in the field of his work.

Ambassador Brandusa Predescu: “It is with great, great, pleasure that we are able today to confer to dr. Vlad Niculescu-Dincă this high decoration on behalf of the President of Romania. His remarcable achievements with the Romanian School in Eindhoven are commendable. With tireless efforts and tireless creativity, he coordinates the school since 2012 – and in his free time – driven by the desire to offer children, and not only, the opportunity to learn about the Romanian language and culture. And this is admirable. At the same time, he managed to bring together an ambitious team of teachers and parents – Romanian, Dutch and internationals – contributing to the sense of community in the region. And this is also something that is very much to be valued.
Moreover, his achievements in the field of his work recommend him a lot. Here it is important to mention that he is one of the very few Romanians with a remarkable academic career in The Netherlands, now teaching and researching in one of the best universities in the world, Leiden University.
For these, and a lot more that your friends and family know best, I am now in the wonderful situation to confer to you this high decoration, the Order „Merit for Education” in the rank of Knight”.

We warmly congratulate dr. Vlad Niculescu-Dincă on this distinction and wish him a succesful career in our university.
