Honorary doctorate for LUMC Dean Pancras Hogendoorn

Pancras Hogendoorn, Professor of Pathology and Dean of the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), received an honorary doctorate from Semmelweis University in Budapest on Friday 8 October 2019.

Hogendoorn has received the degree for his work on understanding the molecular mechanisms behind the development of bone and soft tissue tumours. The award also marks his efforts to internationally disseminate the research results in WHO classifications, postgraduate education and partnerships, including research consortia and clinical trials.

Hogendoorn is flattered to have received the doctorate. ‘Semmelweis University is a loyal and innovative partner in various international research consortia. I feel most honoured with this international tribute.’
