New academic year, new composition University Council

The University Council has started this academic year in a new composition. Last June, elections were held for the student faction. Two students returned and six new student members and one new staff member were welcomed in early September.

September was characterized by introduction meetings, education, the opening of the academic year and the council's organizational meeting. During the latter meeting, Pieter Krol was re-elected as chairperson of the university council and the composition of several committees was determined.

University Council 2016-2017

In August the University Council celebrated the end of the academic year with the Executive Board and said goodbye to leaving council members. In the 2016-2017 academic year, many subjects were reviewed by the council. Some items on the agenda are reviewed yearly, such as the university budget, the framework memorandum and the annual accounts. The council also reviews a broad spectrum of othe subjects. Examples from last year are: sustainability issues, diversity policies, and limitations in the capacity of educational programmes. We thank all council members from the last academic year for their efforts!
