Leiden pharmacy and pharmacology has risen to 17th place in the QS World University Rankings by Subject. In 2016 it was in 21st place in this annual ranking of leading universities in 46 disciplines.

Like last year, the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR) is rated as the best in the Netherlands in this field. The scores are based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. International students can use the QS Ranking as a tool to compare institutions.

QS divides the Faculty of Science research fields into two subject areas. Natural Sciences takes 155th place worldwide and Life Sciences & Medicine, which includes psychology and LUMC  disciplines, are also represented, even taking place 71.
