Progress Wijnhaven project

The dismantling and demolition of the Wijnhaven complex is in full progress.

The dismantling and demolition of the Wijnhaven complex is in full progress.

After the removal of the inner furnishing of the lower floors at the Schedeldoekshaven and the Lage Zand, the removal of the facades could be started. Subsequently the edges of façade and floor will be cut with a huge concrete saw, so that the new façade can be assembled on the right spot.

For now, the dismantled floors show a sad picture and is it hard to imagine that within 1,5 years thousands of students and staff members of the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs will study and work here.

After completion of the lower floors, the high tower on the Turfmarkt will be started, where the University will  use three floors as well.

More or less at the same time the piling for the new entrance and both large auditoria will start and the corner of Turfmarkt and Lage Zand.

Here you can see a photo impression of the demolition of Wijnhaven.
