Institute Office
The Institute of Private Law at Leiden Law School has a designated Institute Office for administrative matters. The Institute Coordinator (IC) manages this office and the Institute’s Academic Director (WD) has ultimate responsibility.
Tasks
The Institute Office supports the staff, Heads of Department, and Academic Director in relation to teaching, research and the impact of the Institute. It supports the practical implementation of strategic policy decisions and identifies areas for improvement, helping to ensure the effective organisation and management of the Institute and its departments.
The Institute Office:
- provides administrative support for the Institute’s teaching and research;
- provides proactive (practical) support to the WD and Heads of Department in relation to policy- and decision-making, as well as operations (finance, HR, ICT/digitalisation and facilities) within the Institute, with a focus on personnel and financial workflows, in close cooperation with other faculty/university support departments;
- provides general secretarial and administrative support to the Institute’s staff, Heads of Department, and the WD;
- is the first point of contact for students, internal staff and external visitors.
