Van Rompuy interviewed by media on Super League case pending before the European Court of Justice

This week, the Court of Justice of the EU heard arguments in the case brought by the Spanish company behind the short-lived 'European Super League' against FIFA and UEFA.

It claims that football’s governing bodies abused their monopoly position, in violation of EU competition law, when they blocked last year’s plans of twelve of Europe's top football clubs to form their own breakaway competition.

Ben Van Rompuy, Assistant Professor of EU competition law, was interviewed by a number of news outlets, such as Politico, Bloomberg News, AFP, De Tijd, De Standaard, and the Finnish public broadcaster on the expected outcome and practical significance of the case.
