War, Peace and Justice
The War, Peace and Justice research group brings together scientists, researchers and both current and former practitioners to explore issues concerning war, conflict, peace and justice.
The focus is on the causes, nature and (new) dynamics of war and conflict, on strategies for promoting sustainable peace and on the role of justice and human rights within these themes.
Although war, peace and justice each have a long and rich intellectual tradition, they are often approached separately in policy and science. The War, Peace and Justice research group wants to focus on the coherence between these three areas. By using an integrated approach, new insights and solutions can emerge at the intersection of these themes. In addition, the research group pays special attention to the role of gender in relation to peace and security.
