Who can participate?
To participate in the Student-for-a-Day event, you preferably visited one of our events, like the Open Day. In any case you should be in your final or next-to-final year of university preparatory high school.
About the course 'Terrorism & Counterterrorism'
The threat of terrorism remains a priority on political agendas worldwide, yet many aspects of terrorism and counterterrorism remain poorly understood. This course has two main objectives. First, it provides a thorough introduction to key aspects of 20th- and 21st-century terrorism and counterterrorism. Reflecting the field’s multidisciplinary nature, students explore topics ranging from the history of modern terrorism to the macro-, meso- and micro-level causes of involvement in political violence. Second, the course examines the opportunities and obstacles involved in conducting interdisciplinary research on these subjects. Ultimately, students learn to critically assess and participate in debates on terrorism and counterterrorism from various disciplinary and methodological perspectives. Read more
