The webinar will be held in Spanish/Portuguese, and participation is open to anyone interested in the topic.
This first session will address the historical specificities of colonial and scientific collecting, archaeological extraction, racism and state violence, the role of museums and collections, and, especially, the demands and experiences emerging from Latin America. We are particularly interested in approaching Latin America not simply as a region of origin for collections, but as an important space for the production of political languages, legal strategies, methodologies, and critical perspectives on repatriation, reparation, and heritage justice.
