Current Research
My current project investigates the diverse lives of Mapuche shamanic drums (kultxug) housed in European museums and explores what repatriation means when guided by Indigenous criteria. Working alongside the Kiñelmapu Koyawe Repatriation Commission, I treat storytelling not as outreach but as a method: through gütxam (collective conversations), we co-create narratives that help reclaim the drums’ vital energy (newen) and guide practical decisions about care, display, and return.
