Power and Privacy: Rethinking Digital Sovereignty
We are delighted to invite you to an afternoon of engaging discussion hosted by SAILS, in collaboration with SURF, on the timely theme: Power and Privacy: Rethinking Digital Sovereignty.
We will approach these matters from the perspective of Universities in The Netherlands: how can we - as universities - regain our data-sovereignty?
Join leading experts from Leiden University and SURF as they explore the evolving dynamics of digital sovereignty, privacy, and power in the Dutch academic landscape.
The speakers will speak on the following topics
• Digital Sovereignty - from necessity to practical alternatives (Corno Vromans & Wladimir Mufty - SURF)
• Governance Aspects of Digital Sovereignty (Bram Klievink – FGGA)
• Discussion on Digital Sovereignty as a Topic for Academic Research (Joost Visser & Joost Batenburg – LIACS)
Following the panel discussion and Q&A session, the event will wrap up with informal networking drinks—a chance to continue the conversation and connect with other attendees.
A finalised programmewill follow soon.
