This series of events explores the question of what resources students and staff need in order to engage productively in discussions about classroom dynamics. JEDI strategies are often too general and not specific enough to effect meaningful change in the philosophy classroom. To close the gap between the general and the specific, we are organizing a series of events where staff and students are able to have conversations together. For all participants to have a shared starting point, we have invited experts to provide guidance for our discussion. The goal is to summarize the information into a framework document that supports both staff and students to engage in future conversations.

Everyone is welcome to join the event series for whatever events pique their interest--attending half a session is also possible. Every kind of shared thought and perspective is appreciated. The events will take place in the following order:

The event series is funded by the Inclusive Teaching Subsidy of Leiden University and arise from the initiative of the students Akpana Ahukannah (MA), Fabius Schoendube (PhD), Inga Triebel (MA), and Sinan Zhao (BA), with the guiding support of the Institute of Philosophy (especially Dr. Ahab Bdaiwi, Dr. Catharine Diehl, and Dr. Rozemund Uljée) and the study association for philosophy Symposion.
