Ethics has become a crucial topic in cybersecurity and AI. Researchers need to be aware of the ethical aspects to consider in their research design and execution. Teachers need to know what topics in ethics students need to be educated about. Yet, this is sometimes challenging due to the nature of the fields: cybersecurity and AI are often considered primarily from disciplinary perspectives, most frequently from computer science. And for teachers and researchers, it can be challenging to know what practices and topics are considered in other disciplines.
To establish new connections and enable dialogue, we are excited to organize an interdisciplinary event dedicated to ethics in cybersecurity and AI, hosted by Leiden University. On July 7 and 8, we will meet in Leiden to brainstorm and share best practices on ethical aspects in teaching and research in cybersecurity and AI. The event will feature a set of talks and discussion from experts, and we are reserving enough time for lunch and coffee breaks to allow meaningful discussions and forging new collaborations.
Everyone is welcome to join. More details about the program and the registration form can be found here: https://ethics_ul.gitlab.io/2025/
