The d12n Research Cluster invites you to join a workshop on how you can use drawing and illustration in your work as a researcher, educator, and public communicator. The workshop will be facilitated by Ulrike Uhlig.
In the workshop, Ulrike will share her own approach and provide hands-on tips for how to find visual metaphors and communicate your ideas. You do not have to be great at drawing to take part.
Ulrike is the author, with Mallory Knodel, of How the Internet Really Works: An Illustrated Guide to Protocols, Privacy, Censorship, and Governance (No Starch Press, 2020). An illustrator, writer, internet activist, and developer, she studied Visual and Contemporary Arts, Arts and Image Technologies, and photography at Université Paris 8.
The workshop will take place at the Centre for Digital Scholarship on the ground floor of the University Library, Witte Singel 27. The workshop is supported by the Leiden Teaching Academy.
