African Studies Centre activities
As an African Studies master’s student you will be able to join the regular seminars, conferences and projects on Africa organised by the African Studies Centre (ASC) Leiden. These activities, as well as the centre’s extensive research library, will provide you with a strong international orientation and context for your MA research.
Learn a language
Benefit from the extensive language expertise at Leiden University by learning a new language or improving your existing language skills. In preparation for your internship in Africa, you have the opportunity to study a specific language (like Swahili or French) that will help you communicate more easily with the people in the country you visit.
Leiden Leadership Programme
Are you interested in developing your leadership potential? The Leiden Leadership Programme (LLP) is an Honours Programme specifically developed for ambitious master's students at Leiden University and the Delft University of Technology who recognise the importance of leadership abilities. The LLP offers in-depth training sessions, assessments, seminars, and the creation of a Personal Leadership Roadmap – a five-year plan for reaching and developing your leadership potential.
