About the programme Archaeology

Archaeology is a versatile bachelor's programme that allows you to turn the past into your future. You will investigate human societies from early prehistoric times to modern times. The programme shows you how this legacy has shaped our current society. You will be introduced to heritage issues and actively participate in excavations. You will also research findings in a laboratory and acquire academic skills such as writing, discussing and presenting. In the first year you can choose if you want follow some study components in English or in Dutch. From the second year, the programme is fully taught in English, but you always have the option of taking your tests and writing assignments in Dutch. After graduation, you are qualified to work as a researcher at a university or other organisations, or you can work in commercial archeology and at heritage consultancy firms, in museums, or in government.
