Drawing outdoors with Robbert Kiewiet: cityscapes
Monday from 10:00-12:30 h | no class on May 24
- Robbert Kiewiet
For beginners and for those with some experience.
In this course you will draw cityscapes.
You learn skills to draw in any city. Nice if you are on vacation or want to explore your own city in a different way. By drawing in the city you look differently and you notice things that you normally do not see.
Every week we visit a different part of the city to get started. Our studio is therefore just outside and always in a different place. You will be drawing a lot with basic materials such as pen, pencil and eraser. Both technical and creative aspects of drawing are discussed.
Consider, for example, making a line drawing, working with tone (light / dark) and setting up a composition. Extensive attention is also paid to perspective. In addition, we will apply a number of techniques of the old masters (such as Rembrandt).
After this course you will have (more) drawing skills and you will walk through the city with a different view.
The LAK supplies the material that the students can keep with them during the course. Classes are held in small groups. The lessons start and end in the courtyard at Mathias de Vrieshof 4, next to the University Library (toilet available). In rainy weather, a place is sought under a roof or brid
