Virgilio Urbina Lazardi is a doctoral candidate at New York University’s Department of Sociology and an upcoming postdoctoral researcher at MIT Sloan School of Management. His research focuses on the constraints, capacities, and strategies for collective action on the labour market and in the workplace. As such, it draws from industrial relations, comparative political economy and development studies in roughly equal measure. Currently, he is finishing his dissertation on the loss of middle-skill employment in the United States and its impact on the labor market attachment of non-credentialed jobseekers.
