Veronica’s research focuses on archaeology of childhood, with particular emphasis on breastfeeding and weaning practices, mobility, disease, and physiological stress. Her PhD project examines childhood experiences across pre-Columbian, colonial, and postcolonial contexts in ancient Panama and Costa Rica through paleopathological and archaeometric approaches.
