Research

Sümeyye examines how beliefs about upward and downward economic mobility relate to intergroup and intragroup dynamics. Her research focuses on how perceived economic mobility influences individuals’ behavior toward ingroup and outgroup members in conflict situations, using experimental methods and economic games in cross-cultural settings. This work contributes to a broader understanding of how economic perceptions are linked to social cohesion and conflict.

Short CV

Sümeyye completed her bachelor's degree in Psychology at Ankara University in 2017. She later completed her research master in Social Psychology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2023.

She was awarded the Turkish Study Abroad Program Scholarship by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education in 2018 for her master’s and doctoral studies.
