Dr. Qinyu Chen has been an assistant professor in the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) at Leiden University, The Netherlands, since February 2024. She earned her PhD in Electronic Science and Technology from Nanjing University in 2021. From 2019 to 2020, she was a visiting PhD student, and from 2022 to 2024, a postdoct at the Institute of Neuroinformatics, University of Zurich, and ETH Zurich.

Her research combines neuroscience, computer science, and microelectronics to develop compact, energy-efficient, neuro-inspired intelligent hardware/software systems for applications in healthcare, extended reality, and generative AI, etc. Her work has been recognized with awards/grants such as the 2022 BRIDGE fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and Veni 2024 in domain Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES) from Dutch Research Council (NWO).

She actively contributes to professional societies, serving as a technical committee member of the IEEE Neural Systems and Applications Technical Committee (NSATC) since 2022, and as its secretary since 2025. She has held organizational or program committee roles in several conferences/workshops, including the Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) AI for Streaming Workshop (2024), the IEEE Standards Workshop on AI for Healthcare (2024), the Neuro-Inspired Computational Elements (NICE) Conference (2025), the CVPR Event-based Vision Workshop (2025) and IROS Edge AI for Robotics Workshop (2025). Additionally, she served as a track chair and session chair for the IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS) in 2024 and 2025, and as the Workshop/Tutorial Chair for the International Conference on Field-Programmable Logic and Applications (FPL) 2025.
