Pouria Mirelmi is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science. His research focuses on understanding the dynamics of state-dissent through the use of Machine Learning and Network Analysis methods.

Prior to Joining the institute as a PhD candidate, he was a research assistant at the Computational Social Science department at GESIS–Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Germany. He obtained a BSc in Computer Science from Kharazmi University of Tehran, and a MSc in Computational Social Systems from RWTH Aachen University, with a major in Social Data Science.
