Study Coordination

As a study adviser for the BA Art History/Arts, Media and Society I can provide you with information on the degree programme, study advice (BSA), study tips, or other matters concerning your studies. I help students with doubts about their study programme or experiencing difficulties during their studies.

Please contact me if you have any questions. These could be questions regarding study planning, choice of options within the study programme, study difficulties and doubts, additional challenges or personal issues. You can send an e-mail or make an appointment using this link. My workdays are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Research

I specialise in contemporary art history and theory, with a focus on bioart and the role of art in debates on the ethical, societal, and cultural implications of developments in biomedicine and biotechnology. In my research, I investigate how art can provide a unique kind of knowledge about living matter alongside bioscientific discourses. I draw inspiration from theories in biopolitics, art philosophy, posthumanism, new materialism, bioethics, and Science and Technology Studies.

My PhD project The Excess of Meaning. Developing an ethical attitude toward biological life through engaging with bioart was completed in February 2024 and was granted the cum laude distinction. I hold a BFA in Fine Arts, BA in Art History, and MA in Arts and Culture (cum laude).
