Julia Puente Duyn is a lecturer at the Institute of Political Science at Leiden University, where she teaches academic skills workgroups for the BSc International Relations and Organisations. She completed a BA in International Studies, specialising in the region of North America and International Politics (2017) and an MSc in Political Science, specialising in International Institutions and Security Governance. Her master thesis used the Principal-Agent Theory to explore the influence of NATO’s Secretary-General in pushing for the transformation and adaptation of the alliance to a 21st century security environment. After graduating, Julia worked as a Network and Communications Officer for a peacebuilding organisation, United Network of Young Peacebuilders, where she developed her strong research interest in the topics of conflict, conflict resolution from a grassroots perspective.
