Since December 2019, Joost van der Helm is connected to the Institute of Private Law as an external PhD candidate.
Joost studied law and political sciences at Leiden University. He worked as a lawyer in The Hague from 1997- 2005 and then became a judge. He now works as a judge in the Court of Appeal in The Hague. He is working on a PhD thesis on the court order and injunction.
