In his research, Ittay Mannheim focuses on the intersection of ageing and digital technology. Particularly, Ittay investigates the manifestations of ageism in the use and design of digital technology, in the context of AI, datafication, socially assistive robots, interventions to reduce ageism, and policy implications. His research makes use of a mixed-methods approach, working in trans-disciplinary teams, and using participatory design to promote equality and social change.

Short CV
Ittay has a diverse background. He received his MA in Social & Organizational Psychology (Magna Cum Laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem after which he worked at the Division for Research on Ageing at the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute. Ittay’s dissertation entitled "Ageism in the Use and Design of Digital Technology" was completed at Tilburg University, as part of the 'EuroAgeism’ MSCA Doctoral Training Network. During his doctoral training he also worked at the School of Allied Health Professions at Fontys University of Applied Science. Following, Ittay completed a post-doc funded by the Aging in Data (AiD) project at the Department of Communication Studies and ABC Robotics Initiative at Ben Gurion University and the Open University of the Netherlands. Ittay is currently a board member of the Social Geron-technology Network.
