I am a PhD candidate at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague. My research focuses on the political economy of development, with particular interest in social policy, unequal development, democratisation, and global value chains. My PhD research is on ‘The interacting politics of social cash transfers and agricultural input subsidies in Malawi and Zambia’. It is due to be completed in early 2026.

Before starting my PhD, I worked for four years as a Research and Evaluation Specialist for UK government's Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), including in Malawi and Zimbabwe.
