As an Assistant Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at Leiden University, she leads her own research group investigating the interaction between lifestyle and the brain (LBI, Lifestyle Brain Interaction). The focus is on ketogenic interventions, particularly (intermittent) fasting, supplements (exogenous ketones and MCT oil), and the ketogenic diet. She herself has experienced for years how a ketogenic diet positively affects her mental health. She is now researching this at an academic level with her team and numerous collaborators. Additionally, she is committed to sharing this knowledge with a wide audience.
