I am a Postdoctoral researcher and work within the Pharmacy Group of Prof. Dr. Miranda van Eck. My work focuses on predictive modelling using Joint and PKPD models for clinical trials measuring the safety and effectiveness of medicines in daily clinical practice. I am also involved in education by giving guest lectures on Data analysis strategies in biomarker research, and supervising MSc students of Pharmacy and Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Before joining the Leiden Academic Centre of Drug Research, I was a PhD student in Statistics at the University of Glasgow. My PhD research focused on Dirichlet Process mixture models and Multivariate mixed models for biomarkers’ analysis in a Bayesian framework for prostate cancer prediction and doping detection in sports.
 
During my PhD, I conducted additional research projects on statistical modelling for lung cancer, Mediterranean diet in health, and herpes zoster. I also took up a 2.5-year position as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Glasgow involving teaching of several statistical courses at BSc, MSc, and PhD levels. Further, I have been affiliated with the London School of Economics and the University of London as a Class Teacher in Statistics for the online undergraduate programme.

Prior to this, completed my BSc in Statistics at the Athens University of Economics and Business, and then my MSc in Biostatistics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Description of the current projects:

•    A prospective, longitudinal observational pharmacokinetic study is conducted to determine the optimal antibiotics dosing in neonates after clinical evaluation of sepsis.
•    Investigation of the potential effect of immunomodulating drugs in combination with clopidogrel in bleeding and embolism risks in patients with inflammatory diseases.
