In 2018, she earned her doctorate after five years of intensive research on optimal national prevention strategies for cervical cancer in Curaçao. Throughout this period, she diligently explored the crucial role of behavioural sciences, emotions, social anthropology, and communication in healthcare and their impact on individual health, healthcare systems, and society as a whole.

Understanding the significance of these factors in healthcare led her to appreciate their importance and conduct in-depth analyses of the well-being of both patients and healthcare providers, focusing on culture, behaviour, emotions, and communication. Consequently, she firmly believes that insights from behavioural sciences are invaluable in pursuing effective and efficient health goals and fostering an inclusive approach to care, leaving no one behind.
