Carolina Gerwin is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science.
Carolina Gerwin is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science. Her research seeks to further scholarship on the development of the EU as a “sovereign actor” through a case study of the EU’s evolution in security and defense following and in response to Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. She has been working at a political consulting firm since 2023, first in Brussels, and now in Munich.
Carolina holds a Master’s degree in International Security from Sciences Po Paris, as well as a Master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Prior to her master programme, she spent half a year as a Visiting Researcher at the Centre for Global Knowledge Studies (gloknos) at Cambridge University. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in International Studies at Leiden University, including a semester spent abroad at University College London (UCL).
