Over the years Ben de Jong has written on Russian politics and intelligence history, among other topics. In late 2020 a book was published on a major figure in the history of Dutch intelligence: 'Op de bres voor de rechtsstaat in het Verzet en bij de BVD. Ad de Jonge (1919-2002)' [In Defence of Democracy: in the Resistance and with the Dutch security service BVD].
