More information about Aya Elewa

Aya joins the NWO Groenvermogen HySUCCESS project.

Holding a PhD in economics from Paris School of Economics, her research interests focuses on international trade, enviromental economics and industrial organization. Before joining Leiden, she was an economic researcher at OFCE, Sciences Po, Paris where she analyzed the reasons behind productivity gap between the EU and the US using firm level and sector level data. She worked as a consultant in the World Bank where she studied the impact of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Machanism (CBAM) on the exports from the MENA region.

Before, Aya joined University of Orléans as a postdoctoral researcher where she studied the impact of globalozation, technological transformation and demographical change on labour markets in the EU.

As an economic researcher in the French National Institute of Research in the Agriculture and Environment, she examined how the technological progress in the wheat market afttects the competition between the producers using firm-level data.
