Anne-Marie Schreurs is the career adviser for all students enrolled at Leiden Law School. She gained experience working as a lawyer, coach, trainer, intervision coach, study adviser, and career adviser.

Anne-Marie Schreurs is a career adviser with a background in law.

After graduating with a degree in law from Leiden University, she worked as an intern at KBS Advocaten in Utrecht. After completing her internship and professional training, she lived in London for a year where she worked as a spokesperson for War Child. Since her return to the Netherlands she has consecutively worked as an employment law expert at Achmea Rechstbijstand, as a corporate lawyer at ABM Amro and as a court clerk in juvenile law at Amsterdam District Court.

In 2012, she started her own business training and coaching lawyers and legal professionals.

In 2020, she started working as study adviser for a university of applied sciences in Amsterdam. In August 2022, she started work as the career adviser at Leiden Law School. She combines her work as career adviser with running intervision groups in advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Career services Leiden Law School
• Short career orientation tracks: who am I, what am I capable of, what do I want
• Questions about career opportunities for criminologists and jurists
• Advising on study career opportunities, e.g. side jobs, internships, ancillary activities
• Questions about writing a motivation letter and drafting a CV
• Advising on study choices from a career perspective
• Job interview preparation and/or coaching
• Advising on and preparing for assessments
• Any questions relating to future career opportunities
