Ang Li's research project, "Landscape Change in Historical Cities", focuses on the interrelationships between social-economic change, spatial and architectural development, perceptions and transmission of traditional urban values, and the cultural heritage of historical cities in China. This project aims to identify and clarify the potential drivers of future landscape changes, how these can be inspired by historical changes and cultural heritage, and how they can inform new dynamic models to guide the necessary renewal of historical cities, as well as design frameworks for future urban development that are inspired by the city’s past.
