Her research revolves around comparative family policy, gender equality and family transitions. She's particularly interested in the relationship between family policy legislation, policy knowledge, and behavioural outcomes such as policy uptake, labour market activity and gender division of unpaid work. 

Alzbeta is currently working on the international TransEuroWorks project together with Prof. Olaf van Vliet. She's also a Science Communication Coordinator on the COST Action project Parental Leave Policies and Social Sustainability (Sustainability@Leave). She holds a PhD in Social Policy from the University of Edinburgh and she previously worked on her MSCA Project "Family Policy Measurement Tool: Advanced Methodologies for Understanding Inequalities in Family Policy" at KU Leuven. During this project she created the Open Family Policy Program, a microsimulation model for maternity, paternity and parental leave policies in Europe.
