Research project

Development of Generalized Squared Distance Logistic Model (GSDLM).

The objective of this project is the development of a new psychometric model, called the Generalized Squared Distance Logistic Model (GSDLM). This model is an evolution of older psychometric approaches (such as PARELLA, GHCM, and GGUM) and the Gaussian Ordination Models (GOMs) used in environmental studies. The project consists of the development of this model for binary as well as graded response data, and with or without taking background characteristics into account. The major innovation in the GSDLM will be the possibility to predict unknown responses of persons from a known profile of background characteristics on items with a known profile of item design characteristics. The project will include the development of a R language package called GSDLM for use by researchers in the psychometric field.
