The 2017 Netherlands election: Polls suggest mid-sized parties are now the new norm in Dutch politics

Political scientist Tom Louwerse (Leiden University), analysing several recent opinion polls, expects that after the March 2017 elections in the Netherlands, a relatively large number of mid-sized parties will gain representation in the Dutch parliament. If the predictions are anything close to the final outcome, a complicated government formation awaits.
