This thesis explores the basic mechanism of the CO oxidation reaction on a palladium catalyst. Two new setups are presented to investigate catalytic reactions in general. Using a variety of techniques, reaction oscillations are analysed and modeled to examine the basic structure of the palladium catalyst in operating conditions.
