De strijd tegen fascisme Het activistische leven van Lie Alma (1909-1990)

The work describes how Alma, as a young teacher in the rural peat district of Drenthe, was confronted with poverty and inequality, which strengthened her political engagement towards socialism. With the rise of fascism in the 1930s, her involvement in the antifascist movement in the Netherlands increased, where she became known for her public speaking and outspoken voice.

A central theme of the book is the role of women in the antifascist movement. By presenting the life story of Lie Alma, this often less visible dimension of political mobilisation is brought into focus.
