Apart from pre-master’s, a number of our master’s programmes offer applicants the option to arrange an individual bridging programme. This is not a set programme, but it will be tailored to your specific needs.

Applicants with an academic bachelor’s degree from a research university, who do not meet the entry requirements for the MA Arts and Culture, may be eligible for an individual bridging programme. You will need to submit an online application. Please note: Applicants with a degree from a Dutch University of Applied Sciences (HBO) are not eligible for admission to the MA or the individual bridging programme.

Applicants with an academic bachelor’s degree from a research university who do not meet the entry requirements may be eligible for an individual bridging programme, ranging from 20-60 EC. To be eligible for a bridging programme the applicant’s BA degree must be within a relevant specialisation. Please contact the Coordinator of Studies for more information. If you have one of the following backgrounds you can apply to the pre-master:
- You have a bachelor’s degree from a university of applied science (HBO), in the field of economics, history, political science (and international relations), law or European Studies; or,
- You have an academic bachelor’s degree from a research university, but you do not meet the entry requirements. That is to say, if you did finalise a bachelor in the field of social sciences, humanities, law or economics but did not obtain at least 30 EC worth of courses relevant for the MA European Union Studies;
- If you have obtained an academic Bachelor’s degree from a research university, in a different field but you do not meet the entry requirements mentioned above, you are advised to contact the Coordinator of Studies.

If you have a bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences (HBO) or an academic bachelor’s degree from a research university, but you do not fulfil the admission requirements you will be admitted after completing the 60 EC pre-master’s programme.
If you have a bachelor’s degree from an Art School (Kunstacademie), then you can apply for a shorter pre-master of 30 credits. Both pre-master’s programmes are taught in English.

Details
Het pre-mastertraject (schakelprogramma) is bedoeld voor studenten met een (verwant) HBO-bachelordiploma zoals Journalistiek of Communicatie. De inrichting van het pre-mastertraject wordt na het doorlopen van de toelatingsprocedure (gesprekken en toetsen) per student vastgesteld en heeft een totale omvang van maximaal 60 EC.
Start
De pre-master heeft alleen een startmoment in september.
Capaciteitsbeperking
De maximum capaciteit voor de pre-master is 12 studenten in 2018-2019. Studenten die hun pre-master uiterlijk 31 augustus 2019 afronden worden toegelaten tot de specialisatie in 2019-2020.

Russian and Eurasian studies
If you have a bachelor’s degree in Russian, Russian Culture, History or Society obtained at a university of applied science (HBO) in the Netherlands you will be admitted after completing the pre-master’s programme.
This one-year programme consists of 30 EC from courses that you select from a limited list. From the academic year 2018-19 the programme will consist of 60 EC.
The programme is taught in Dutch, some courses may be taught in English.
