Rescore of The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky for chamber orchestra
ACPA PhD Michael Drapkin has been commissioned by The Venice Symphony (Florida) to rescore The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky for chamber orchestra.
The rescore of this classic composition will premiere in December 2023.
Drapkin's research revolves around taking symphonic works from the classical music canon and rescoring them for chamber orchestra in order to make them more accessible to greater audiences and orchestras. Read more about his research on his dissertation website.
