Nadine Stijns and Yin Yin Wong strengthen the team of teachers of Practicum Artium

We are very happy to announce two new teachers in the Practicum Artium programme: Nadine Stijns and Yin Yin Wong.

Nadine Stijns

Nadine started last Semester as the new teacher of the Practicum Artium Photography courses. Nadine is a photographer based in The Hague. She works on long-term projects fuelled by her curiosity for socio-economic and/or political situations. Topics such as labor migration in a global economic system, Diaspora communities and national identity in post- colonial regions fascinate her and inform her projects. Her work has been shown at The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Contact Photo Festival Toronto and has been published in (inter)national media such as British Journal of Photography.

Yin Yin Wong

Yin Yin started this Semester as the new teacher of the Practicum Artium Graphic Design courses. Yin Yin Wong is a graphic designer and publisher based in Rotterdam. Since 2015 she's the director of Publication Studio Rotterdam where she hosts the 'social life of the book' and explores expanded forms of publishing. Yin Yin currently teaches Cultural Diversity at the Social Practices department of the Willem de Kooning Academy.

Practicum Artium

Practicum Artium (PA) is a programme specially developed for students of Leiden University with a talent for visual arts.

Students from Leiden University who are admitted to this programme attend classes at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. You can choose from a wide range of electives in drawing, painting, graphic design and photography: a unique opportunity for your further artistic development. The classes are mostly held in the evening, which makes it easy to combine this talent programme with your academic study programme.
